The American Trinity Network will broadcast a documentary film on the life of Jesus in Egypt on 12 stations throughout the world under the title ‘Christ and the Lost Years’.
The Los Angeles Daily News yesterday said that the film tries to fill the gaps of what it called ‘the silent years’ by referring to archaeological evidence and literature held by Egyptian churches, as the Bible provides little details on the life of Christ in Egypt.
The newspaper said that the Bible talks about how the angel came to Joseph in a dream and ordered him to flee to Egypt to escape Herod, where the family settled in Al-Nasrah district.
¼br> The newspaper said the film is based on Paul Perry’s best seller that tracks the road taken by Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary and Joseph after Herod threatened to kill all the boys in Israel.
Perry says they moved from one city to another, bypassing the pursuing soldiers. He says that Christ had many miracles in these cities and destroyed temples and idols, leaving behind objects that he himself had made.
The newspaper warned that many of Perry’s stories were taken from verbal history, which many scientists are skeptical of.
