El-Ghazali Harb: NDP Policies Secretariat Does Not Believe in Democracy and Liberalism

Democratic Front Party President Osama el-Ghazali Harb said that the NDP Policies Secretariat does not believe in democracy and liberalism.
He said the proof is that Gamal Mubarak, the head of the secretariat, is seeking to inherit power and is exercising exceptional powers within the party.
He said there are people working in the dark on bequeathing power because they will benefit from it. But inheritance of power will not happen because it needs one of the two following scenarios: the first is that President Mubarak steps down, which nobody would accept, and the second is that Gamal succeeds his father when he dies, which could cause chaos.
He continued: “The July Revolution made the president a God. Though it was not Mubarak who did this, he has capitalized on it.”
Harb called for freedom of political parties because it is the only way to revitalize political life and democracy in Egypt.
