Mission Statment

U.S. Copts Association is dedicated to raising awareness regarding the plight of the Copts within Egypt and educating the Coptic community both in Egypt and abroad on issues of human rights, democracy, and religious freedom.

Today, Copts of all denominations (Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant) are subject to undeniable and documented acts of aggression and practices of discrimination. These acts are the products of intentional and/or neglectful practices of both the Egyptian government and various groups of misguided and misinformed Muslims.
While we are committed to preserving and promoting Egypt’s unity, prosperity, and peace, we are also dedicated to reversing the unacceptable state of affairs imposed upon the Copts within their own homeland.

We would like to make it very clear that we aim to realize these objectives solely through peaceful and legitimate means.

We welcome the participation and the cooperation of individuals and organizations sharing similar ideals, and we acknowledge with respect and gratitude the past contributions made by others in this field. We do not claim the sole right to pursue this mission.

We acknowledge with reverence and admiration the role of our clergy in maintaining our spiritual well-being, especially under the difficult conditions encountered by our communities.

We are aware of the principle laid by Christ to separate state and religion, and we look up to the church in her exalted position, to remain above politics.
We firmly believe that what is good for the Copts is good for Egypt and what is good for Egypt is good for the Copts, as their past and future were and shall remain inseparable.
