Valentine’s Day is celebrated around the world in as many different ways as there are flavours of love.

From Yemen to Pakistan, people were buying flowers and chocolates for their loved ones, while celebrations in Nepal included a dog costume parade, and in China a competition for a couple who kissed the longest had the prize of a diamond ring.

In The Philippines, free condom samples were handed out to promote safe sex, while church volunteers offered candies in exchange for the condoms.

In several countries, the One Billion Rising movement held a number of events to highlight that one in three women in the world will be raped or beaten in their lifetime.

Here are some pictures of celebrations, and protests, on St. Valentine’s Day 2015 around the world.
